Firefly Yoga COVID-19 Update

Please Note: All references to 'Mat' below refer to the space allocated for you to bring your own mat - mat space is just an odd phrase to use.

Firefly Yoga Re-Opening Policies & Procedures:

  • To maintain a 2 metre social distance classes will be capped at 13 students.

  • 2m is measured from centre to centre on mats (both side to side and end to end) in line with UK Active guidelines.

  • All students attending the studio understand that there is a risk of contracting COVID-19 when in any public space despite all safety measures being taken.

  • Classes will not be open to children as they were previously; 14+ in Hot classes, 5+ in non-heated classes. However, they will be charged at full price.

  • We will not be able to facilitate children sitting at the back while classes take place.

  • No props, mats, towels etc will be provided.

  • No one will be required to wear masks or gloves during classes – however they can be worn if this is your personal preference.

  • We are unable to provide drinking water from the taps at this time.

  • Do not attend if you have symptoms of COVID-19, are awaiting a test for COVID-19 or have been in contact with someone who has a suspected or confirmed case of COVID-19.

Bookings, Payments & Cancellations:

  • All classes must be pre-booked – ideally online. There will be no drop in spaces.

  • All classes must be pre-paid – either online or at the end of a previous class.

  • Passes that were paused before we shut are valid & can be used to book classes online.

  • Cancellations must be made 6 hours before the start of class to receive a refund or transfer of payment.

  • Payments will be kept as late cancellation fee if classes are cancelled less than 6 hours in advance.

  • Cancellations apply as above to pass holders. If you fail to cancel more than 6 hours in advance of your class you will lose the credit for that class.

  • Teachers will wear a mask to check you in.

  • Students must enter one at a time – unless attending with someone from your household.

  • Students must use the hand sanitiser provided on arrival.

  • Students will have their temperature checked, on their forehead, on arrival using a contactless thermometer gun.

    • Anyone with a temperate of 37.8C or greater will not be able to participate in the class.

  • Students will go straight into the studio room and straight to a mat.

    • Students must not leave their mat except to use the toilet.

    • The storage area will not be in use – instead, students will place their belonging in a box next to their mat.

  • Students must arrive at least 5 minutes before the start of class to ensure time for safety procedures to take place.

  • Doors will be locked during class. No late arrivals will be accommodated.

  • Students should leave one at a time and avoid stopping in reception and creating a bottle neck.

  • Students are welcome to stay on their mat for 10 mins of social time to chat to other students - excluding at the end of the last class of a morning or evening session.

  • Students must sanitiser their hands when leaving.

  • Students can book & pay for future classes in the studio – although online booking will be encouraged.

    • To do this the teacher will take the booking book into the studio, students wishing to make a booking will stay on their mat as others are leaving and call out their booking. Exact change payment can be left on the mat (and collected by the teacher, wearing gloves if desired) once everyone has left.

  • If students wish to chat to one another for longer than 10 minutes or after the final class of a session this must be done outside of the building and away from the door.
