Updated: Apr 30
Finally - we're reopening! We'll be starting with outdoor classes from Monday 26th April - some of which will be continuing throughout the summer. We will be back to indoor classes from Saturday 8th May. This blog contains all the information on our classes so keep reading to find out more!
Outdoor classes at the studio:
We will be running 4 classes per week on the grass behind the studio from Monday 26th April - weather depending of course. The styles that we will be running outdoors are, hatha, vinyasa and yoga tone. I think its too cold still to do outdoor yin.
The schedule for these classes will be different each week and won't follow the regular timetable. The schedule will be released around a week in advance. As these classes are weather dependant, you will be able to reserve a space on the waitlist from a week in advance and then the day before the class, when the weather is confirmed as okay, the spaces will be released and you will be able to book in and pay.
To use this waitlist facility you will need to book through the WIX Spaces App. You will also need an account on the website.
The app code is X7AOQ7 (not everyone seems to need it so don't worry if you don't).
You can also see the classes as normal on the website booking tool which will then direct you to the app. If you don't have a smart phone/tablet/iPad you can message me to be added but it will be faster and easier for you to get a space if you use the app yourself.
The schedule for the first week back is as follows:
Monday 6pm - Hatha Yoga
Wednesday 10am - Hatha Yoga
Saturday 9:30am - Vinyasa Flow Yoga
Sunday 4pm - Yoga Tone
These classes are 1 hour long and £5 as normal.
You will still need to bring your own mat & if you don't want to put your mat directly on the grass, something to put under it. You are also welcome to bring a blanket for the relaxation. As we'll be outside you won't need to wear a mask, however we will still be checking temperatures so if you want to wear a mask while you have your temperature taken that's fine. The grass area behind the studio is private, so you don't need to worry about people watching you while you yoga!
Outdoor classes at Welsh Cottage Farm:
Twice a month throughout the summer we will also be running classes at Welsh Cottage Farm in Cwmfelin. These classes will cost £10, be 90 minutes long, be a mixture of styles and will include a longer meditation/relaxation session. As well as the yoga class you will also receive a jar of honey to take home with you. These classes will be taking place at 9:30am on a Sunday morning - first class will be Sunday 2nd May.
Some things to consider before signing up for this class:
The class will be taking place in the sheep field - the sheep are very friendly and not really bothered by people though so they probably won't be trying to help you with your yoga poses.
There is no parking at the farm so you will either need to park in the car park by the memorial garden in Cwmfelin and walk up (it is uphill) to the farm which takes about 15 mins according to google maps. Or have someone drop you off and pick you up again.
The walk from the road to the field is also uphill.
I think these classes will be really fun and the views from the field are amazing! There are also currently lots of cute lambs at the farm!
These classes will be booked via the same waitlist system as detailed above. However, as the class revenue is being split between Firefly and the farm you will need to pay your £10 in cash when you arrive.
The same points as above apply to what to bring with you and again no one will be able to see us while we're practicing.
Outdoor sound bath class:
On Sunday 9th May at 3pm (weather dependant) we will be hosting an outdoor sound bath class. This hour long class, deeply relaxing class will use the power of gongs to send you into a meditative state. The class will be run by Patricia Underwood of Airy Fairy Holistics. The class is £10 which will be payable in advice using the same waitlist system as outdoor yoga classes.
You will need to bring something to lie on and wear something warm. As we won't be moving around you are also welcome to bring a sleeping bag for extra snuggly comfort - I will be bringing my sleeping bag so don't worry about being the only one!
Congratulations if you made it this far in the longest blog post in Firefly history!
As I stated at the beginning indoor classes will be resuming from Saturday May 8th. The timetable we will be operating is as follows and will be open to bookings 1 week in advance of reopening. Once we can reopen indoors the outdoor classes on the grass behind the studio will stop but the farm classes will continue.
COVID producers and booking policy will be the same as before:
