Whether you like it or not Christmas is inevitable on its way.
You're going to start hearing things like:
"It's only 4 weeks till Christmas!"
"It's only 12 more sleeps till Christmas!"
"It's only 105 hours till Christmas!"
Now whilst you're busy thinking of what to get people or planning when to brave the Christmas shop to get those presents.
There's a lot of other stuff that's going on! So, I wanted to do a quick blog highlighting some of the events you could go to with friends and family this Christmas.
First up, and most importantly....
For our first Firefly Yoga Christmas Meal (So excited!) we are heading off to The Darren in Risca. They generally have a rating of 4/5 across Facebook, TripAdvisor and Google.

Taste of Winter
Where: Llancaiach Fawr Manor, Nelson When: Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th December
The guys at the Manor will be in the historic kitchen creating some of the culinary specialities that were served up in the middle of the 17th century.
You’ll have the chance to try the food and drink of the period and explore the Manor with its welcoming glow of fire and candle light. Normal entry fees to the Manor apply.
Christmas Markets & Fairs
When: Friday, 30 November 2018 at 17:00
Where: Cwmfelinfach Community Centre, Stanley Street
When: Saturday 1 December 9am to 5pm and Sunday 2 December 10am to 4pm
Where: Blackwood Town Centre
The fair will be a perfect event to take the kids to with a Santa’s grotto and some fairground rides!
When: Saturday 1 December 2018, 3pm to 6pm
Where: Risca Park, Risca Town Centre
The whole event this year will have a new look, and again it sounds like another great option to take the kids to!
There will be free horse and carriage rides around the park for families. All children will receive a small gift on leaving the carriage ride.
Also, a new addition for 2018 are 4 or 5 children’s funfair rides, that will be free to use.
Central to the event will be a marquee serving free refreshments with a small number of food and craft stalls and children’s craft workshops.
All the above is combined with a programme of musical entertainment. The Christmas Light Switch on and Carols around the Christmas tree are between 5.30pm and 6pm.
When: Saturday 8, 9am to 5pm and Sunday 9 December, 10am to 4pm
Where: Caerphilly town centre
If you got to this, you'll be surrounded with smells and sounds of a town and castle getting ready for Christmas. Funfair rides, mulled wines and a street theatre to keep you entertained.
There will be over 100 food, craft and gift stalls to browse.
For the Family
Of course, you can bring the kids to any of our yoga classes if you're looking for something a bit different to do!

Bargoed Ice Rink
Date: Wednesday 12 to Sunday 16 December 2018
Venue: Morrisons underground car park
Bargoed Ice Rink will be back for a five-day stint from Wednesday 12th to Sunday 16th December at Morrison's undercover car park.
The ice rink will be open daily from 10am – 7pm and will operate in half hourly slots throughout the day.
Minimum age - 3 yearsChildren aged 3 years to 7 years old MUST be accompanied on the ice with an adult (Adult must be aged 18+)£3 per person
From the 24th November until Sunday 9th December you can have some family fun at the Caerphilly Ice Rink. Pancakes and festive food will also be available.
Search for Santa
Date: Wednesday 5 and Thursday 6 December, 6pm to 7.30pm
Venue: Sirhowy Valley Country Park
This costs £7 for both adults and Children, and includes a hot drink, mince pies and a little Christmas present for the kids.
It's suitable for ages 5 and above as you'll be wandering through woods looking for clues in your search for Santa.

River of Light Workshops & Parades
When: Saturday December 15 and Sunday December 16, 9am - 5pm
Where: Caerphilly Leisure Centre
These workshops are free to attend and will be great fun for all the family. You can make a festive lantern ready for the Lantern Parade through Caerphilly Town on Thursday 20th December.
When: 20 December 2018 6:30pm
Where: Caerphilly Town Centre
This festive parade is a chance to show off your creations from the week before! The parade will be followed by a fantastic firework display above the skies of Caerphilly castle.
The Parade will start at Caerphilly Train & Bus Station Park & Ride. Accompanied by Samba dancers, Jazz bands and dancers the Parade will then make its way through the town to the rear of Caerphilly Castle (Crescent Road)
That should be enough to keep you busy this Christmas!
